ABOUT ME

Welcome To My Blog

Kay 2015 ©

Thanks for visiting my blog! I'm Kay. Some of you may recognise me from my motivational @fitnhealthyinhk Instagram account where I post motivational content, health and fitness tips and practical advice to enable you to make health and fitness a priority without a personal trainer on hand. I am a firm believer that a busy lifestyle is no reason to sacrifice a healthy existence.

With the encouragement of my friends, I decided to launch a blog to share my fitness and health tips to others, and in doing so, help inspire people to lead a healthier lifestyle. My aim is to make your health goals easier to reach, regardless of your fitness levels. Achieving work-life balance can be understandably challenging, particularly in Hong Kong, where the constant fast pace can burn you out sometimes, so I hope my blog and Instagram will help to guide you and inspire you so that you can stay on top of your fitness goals by providing you some motivation and tips with my my personal tried-and-true experiences woven into each post.

A little snapshot of me...

Being active has always been a big part of my life since I was young. I took part in numerous sports and activities from ballet, gymnastics, netball and swimming. My main sports have been athletics and cross-country where I ran competitively. Because of my lack of knowledge in the benefits of weight training and the nature of the sports, my training regime was just 100% cardio. I was light and had good cardiovascular endurance. Although I am proud of the achievements I made, looking back, I wish I had known how to better train myself so that I had the strength and power to enable me to run even faster and could have inhibited me from my knee injury.  It wasn't until mid-way during my time at university that I learnt the benefits of resistance training. Now in my 20s, I am just an ordinary girl that enjoys weight training, hill running, and hiking but I am always up for a new fitness endeavour, be it rock-climbing, yoga or spinning!

I believe exercise should be enjoyable, not torturous.

I would like to create a community where you feel supported and encouraged to reach your health goals.

Strive for progress, not perfection.

This year I ran my first half-marathon (The Hong Kong Standard Chartered Marathon 2015) with a time of 1:48. I set myself a goal of under 2 hours so I'm proud to achieve a remarkably faster time and be able to tick off a fitness challenge on my bucket list.  If I can do it, you can too!

Feel free to ask me questions, comment on my blog or instagram or get in touch if you would like to collaborate in any way. I'll be so happy to hear from you and aim to get back to you as soon as possible. :)
